RESPONSIBILITIES AS A WOUND CARE SPECIALIST:
Expertise in Wound Care: Oversee wound care treatments in a nursing home environment.
Collaborative Environment: Collaborate with a supportive team where Physicians supervise Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners.
Continuous Learning: While experience is appreciated, it's not mandatory. We encourage you to immerse yourself in wound care education.
JOB DETAILS:
Comprehensive Training: We provide the materials and support you need to grasp the fundamentals. It takes about a month to learn the basics, three months to start feeling comfortable, and one year to become a wound care expert.
Work-Life Balance: Enjoy the perks of a daytime job, working full-time from Monday to Friday, with absolutely no night shifts or weekend commitments.
Assigned Facilities: We group facilities by location and assign them to our physicians, ARNPs, and PAs. You'll visit these facilities weekly to manage patients' wound care, averaging 2-4 facilities and 18-25 patients per day.
YOUR ROLE INVOLVES:
Thorough Assessment: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, paying special attention to factors that increase the risk of wound formation.
Skilled Debridement: Perform wound debridement and prescribe appropriate wound dressings.
Medication Management: Order necessary medications and provide clear instructions for their use.
Educate and Communicate: Educate nursing staff, and maintain open communication with primary care physicians, families, and clinical teams as required.
